2nd Night & 9th Day since the surgery

9-24-25

Last night, we went to bed early and because I was so tired, I sleep deeply a few hours. When I looked up to see that the time was midnight, I rejoiced that I slept and didn't feel pain. I then tried to adjust my sleeping position, the sharp, throbbing pain came back! Ugh... And it stayed around the rest of the night, with Joel getting up to see what meds I was due for and gave them to me... But, it felt like they didn't do much! I spent the time breathing deeply, begging God for relief, praying for others and listening to the Bible songs I found on Spotify.

I had not had a shower since the morning of the surgery! I wanted to do it last night, but I was so tired! While at in the hospital, Joel had ordered a shower chair and a replaced the shower head with one you can take off. I was surprised that shower did not start a painful flare. The shower felt so good and relaxed my body.

Joel is a great, patient caregiver. He stayed with me, but I didn't need too much. He did survive washing my back and "shark bite" shaped incision.

The rest of the day had been more manageable pain wise. I'm just so very tired.

I'm hoping for little improvements each day. I'm seeing recovery is not something quick to get better. Patience and hope is what I need. God is my sustainer. You all are my cheerleaders!
