"Terrible, Horrible, No Good,Very bad Night"
Have any of you read the picture book with a similar name? I thought of that book last night as I struggled with pain. Pain that reminded of the end of labor, with no breaks... But on the upper right side of the my back. Last evening was like that & I needed an IV medicine. Our goal was to find something I can keep the pain manageable that was just oral. The middle of the night it got bad again and I asked for the IV... Because I did that, I'm staying here, with the first hope to to go home being tomorrow, over week after I came. Thankfully, the doctor added medicine directly for nerve pain, and allowed another one to be taken closer together.
Lord willing, I can make it all day and without the IV medicine. It's hard to keep on top of everything here, because the nurses have to be the one to dispense the medicine, take me on walking, and even to the bathroom. I'm told I'm the healthiest person here, so emergencies come up, & clearly, they need assistance first.
Last night there were long periods of time I was praying for the pain to go away, and/or the nurse could come help. God is still my refuge and helped my through those dark nights. Joel came earlier today and made it before the doctor came and is helping me remind the nurses that it's time for meds. He wrote all the meds down & when I can have the next one. He is a wonderful husband!
The staff are all still wonderful and a delight. It's been a rough for them too, these past 24 hours. Well, I'm going to go nap, and hopefully sleep a bit before before the pain worsens, which is before the next doses.
Again, thank for all your support and prayers... Please continue to pray the the pain to go away, or at least be manageable.
