The Exciting Family News!

I must pause my post surgery updates for super exciting news.

The Indiana Prail family has had an exciting year, starting in February, where we added a new daughter-in-Love into our family. It's been a blessing! Their wedding was truly one of my best days ever!

That said, a few days ago, another special day happened to rival, Or, better yet, to complement their wedding and other past days like Joel & my wedding, and the birth of each of our children... All of them are precious days stored up in my heart.

We are rejoicing over the official adoption of our first grandchild! It was a day like no other. My heart truly overflowed. Happy tears were shed by myself and others. I can't be more thankful that this day arrived and the child who has had our hearts for quite awhile, is officially a part of the family! As the shirt his parents gave him to wear that morning said, "I stole their heart's and now, I'm stealing their last name!" PRAISE GOD for his protection and placing him with two wonderful, amazing, God following people, backed by family ready to support and encourage this new (officially) family... Almost three years in the making... Though we didn't know the full plan back then. We knew all three of them, but didn't know that they would become an official family in November 2025.

Adoption is close to God's heart. In fact, it follows in His steps, and His plan... It truly does. Adoption is also extra special to me as well for many reasons. I too have been adopted, along with my twin sister & brother. My twin and I have had the opportunity to meet both birth parents... With a long term relationship with my "Bio" mom (as my grandson would say), and a newer, budding relationship with our "bio" father. We meet him in person when in our twenties, but lost touch until recently. I just know, God orchestrated both adoptions. He doesn't watch from afar. He placed my siblings & myself with the right parents for us at the time, and now, placed this young child right where he belongs, in a stable, safe, family. We are thankful for all the biological parents for giving each of us life.

"God in His holy dwelling is
a father of the fatherless
and a champion of widows.
God provides homes for those who are deserted. He leads out the prisoners to prosperity..."
~ Psalms 68:5-6a.~

Adoption is also a beautiful reflection of God's redemption plan! Not one of us can live out God's law perfectly. We all sin, and we need forgiveness. God knew we would fail... And eventually, that progression leads to becoming slaves to sin, whether it be it pride, lies, or murder. He wants what's best for us. Unlike any other "religion" you may find, Jesus loved us enough to save us from the consequences of sin and rejection of our Creator. In this life, we become slaves to our sins. if we continue on that path, after death, the result is eternal punishment, away from God (and therefore, away from anything that is love, anything good). Jesus took our punishment upon Himself, died, and rose to life again. He conquered death, and sin. But, that's not all! For those who accept this gift and follow Him, He adopts them into His very family.

The following verses written to believers, explains the beauty and benefits of being adopted into God's family:

"But when the right time came, God sent His Son, who was born from a woman and lived under the law. God did this so that He could buy the freedom of those who were under the law. God's purpose was to make us His children. Since you are now God's children, He has sent the Spirit of His Son into your hearts. The Spirit cries out, Abba, Father." Now you are not slaves like before. You are God's children, and you will receive everything He promised His children." ~Galatians 4:4-7 (ERV) ~

How beautiful is that?
