Twice Fired??

Twice Fired??

I'm almost afraid to say, but perhaps I'm getting to the point of more reasonable (pain wise) days than really hard painful days... Or at least the hardest happens in only part of a day, typically late afternoon or evening. Remember, recovery is often not linear, that's what scares me to express I'm in an upturn! I'm so close to being done with the strongest med... I'm halfing the dose and only use it when the pain gets pretty bad! I can't wait to be totally done. Overnight, I started stretching my muscle relaxer by an extra hour to see how that goes... tiny baby steps.

Speaking of baby steps, I cut up celery (it's amazing how much I felt than in my incision.)... I got it done and started ham and bean soup in the quick cooker to take a load of Joel tonight. Most of it is opening tomato and bean cans. I've been craving it too... with grilled cheese. Reminds me of my childhood... One of those comfort foods. 💗. Thanks to Joel for making the grilled cheese!

The last time I updated, I said I had started coughing... Which is harder on the stitches than cutting celery! I asked through a nurse on the portal to the surgeon if the new coughing could be from growing scar tissue inside (he mentioned that as a possibility prior to surgery). His answer was to follow-up with my Pulmonologist. Okay...

Today I had my six month check up with my local Asthma and Allergy specialist. I thought I had a CT, or PET scan sent to him as well last year, but I guess he didn't continue to be updated like my primary doctor was. So, he was surprised and amazed at all that had happened in the last six months, especially the intensive surgery I went through. He listened to my lungs and heart, which sounded good (despite my cough). He pretty much said, for the time being, I'm out of the scope of how he can help me. He said he would write a letter to my pulmonologist and "place the ball (me) back into his court.". He did say, he didn't want me to fall through the cracks, and if the pulmonologist doesn't take over, or if I'm further from my surgery, to let them know. You could say, I'm currently fired as a patient!

One thing I know, is God knows, and has a plan. I do really like my pulmonologist. I just know he is busy because he is so good... And his office is further away in Indianapolis.

I'd appreciate prayers for an answer & for this cough to stop. I still have no sore throat or stuffy nose to indicate an illness. I am very thankful I didn't have this cough in the early days of recovery!!! Also, please pray for better sleep.

Again, thank you so much for caring! I love you all!
