Day 2, September 16th
I am so blessed to have a huge number of prayer warriors keeping me in their prayers. I can totally feel it.. Today was a much better day. I was able to eat 3 meals, and only got nauseous for a short time when I was standing up, & my blood pressure dropped low... But that passed as well..
I had an echocardiogram at 7:30am, but didn't see the doctor afterwards. Reading the portal report in my tired mind, nothing seemed terrible... I'll let you know if I hear different.
The staff that were here both days said I looked so much better today, except for during that episode of the low blood pressure, where I got pale and sweaty.
I still have an epidural, so most of my back has managed pain, unless I move, cough, or laugh... Unfortunately, the epidural doesn't go up to my upper back & shoulder, so I'm having more pain there. The nurse brought me a patch this evening, and that helps take the edge off... They don't want me to avoid deep breathing due to pain.
I thought I'd be in ICU just overnight, but I'm still here. The night nurse isn't sure why, but possibilities are my occasional irregular heart beats, that I still have a epidural, or just that my Dr is conservative and rather keep monitoring me closer.
This afternoon Luke came bringing me a chai frappe from Hitherto (a local coffee shop in Greenfield). That was good for my sore throat from being intubated during the surgery. After he left, Noah & Kira came, bringing tea and honey... Also very helpful!!
It was amazing to see them again. Even though it has only been 3 days, it feels like a long time with what has happened!
Again, thanks to all of you praying for and supporting me though this crazy journey. I also must say every staff and medical person here has been amazing!
