So Very Tired
I keep thinking, surely, I've faced the hardest thing in this Cyst removal surgery & recovery, but no... Last night, as I was getting ready for bed, and laid down, I had the worst pain I've ever had in my life. The cramp that had developed after my shower on my side and just below my chest started shooting pain I've never felt before, radiating around my whole torso. At times the pain lighted, and with the slightest move, grew quickly and powerfully! I felt I were being divided in two! Joel called the thoracic surgery department at Community North and they were pretty sure it was nerve pain. She said I could go to ER, or wait and come in at 9am. I already had an appointment closer to noon for my post op. We waited. With Joel's help and my steering pain, I was able to get into the recliner, where I could stay still, and eventually had some light sleep.
We saw the surgeon first thing this morning and he expressed sadness that I was struggling so, as most of his patients are doing well by 4 weeks. I'm not so sure that was encouraging at that moment. He told me he is convinced the pain will go away, but it could take many months. Please join me in praying that it isn't so long, and for sure, not as painful as last night! I don't feel that strong!
They also removed the stitches and made an appointment for me to have another CT scan, and then did the procedure to drain the fluid outside my lungs. My pulmonologist discouraged that last time I was in the hospital, but I didn't know what to say today and wanted any extra pain relief. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it did anything. They drained less fluid this time. Thankfully, I was able to make appointments and not go thru ER for the CT scan and procedure. That's huge praise! Looking for the small things to be thankful for. Joel once again lived out how amazing he is through this. I must thank Schneider Geospatial as well, for their patience in letting Joel be available to help me. They also sent me a huge bouquet early on in my first hospital stay!
